These cute little treats are so easy to make and just in time for Christmas! Rice Krispie Treat Lollipops are a no-bake treat with so many decorating options! Dip the balls in chocolate and let your imagination go wild with candy, sprinkles, nuts, etc. Wrap and give these kids both young and old!
The possibilities are endless when it comes to decorating Rice Krispie Treat Lollipops! As you can see, I chose to dip the lollipops into melted milk chocolate and top them with sprinkles, candies, and chopped nuts. These are so much fun to make and even more fun to eat! Easily transform plain Rice Krispie Treats into a beautiful, cheerful, holiday treat!
I took these a step further and bought some inexpensive cellophane bags from Micheals and placed one lollipop into each bag. I tied them up with red ribbon to keep them looking festive and homemade. If you like to play with your food before you eat it, or if you just like to have some good fun in the kitchen with your little ones, Ricke Krispie Treat Lollipops are for you!

I’m going to tell you all about this recipe and how you can make it in your home this holiday season, but first, I want to tell you about what you can expect from Lord Byron’s Kitchen this Christmas. I know we’re getting closer to the big day, so it’s time to get to the easier recipes! Before I get into today’s recipe, let me make mention of the five previous holiday confection countdowns that I just finished up this year.
Back in October, I kicked off the holiday season with a holiday recipe series called Lord Byron’s 12 Holiday Trifles Series and followed that up with a second series called Lord Byron’s 12 Holiday Breads and Loaves. Next was a second volume of my 12 Bars and Squares of Christmas! You can find the first bars and squares series here! After that came the seventh annual instalment of Lord Byron’s 24 Cookies of Christmas!
I know we’re getting closer to the big day, which means that most of us will have less time to bake. That is why I’m sharing this new series with you called Lord Byron’s 12 Homemade Holiday Gifts Series! This will be the last series for the 2024 holiday season, so let’s get to it!
LORD BYRON’S 12 SNACKS & TREATS OF CHRISTMAS
Another holiday series, Lord Byron? Yes – why not!? Welcome, Dear Reader, to my last Christmas series this holiday season! I’m calling this series Lord Byron’s 12 Homemade Holiday Gifts Series. Unlike the 24 Cookies of Christmas series that ended a few days ago, this series will focus on easy-to-make snacks and treats that are both delicious and festive.
I will try to keep the recipes in this series quick and easy too. Most of them will require the help of a microwave rather than an oven. And, a bunch of them will involve more assembly-type tasks rather than preheating, beating, whipping, etc.
Just like every other series that I’ve shared here, this series will also see a new snack or treat recipe shared with you, Dear Reader, each and every single day for the next 12 days – even on Saturday and Sunday! You might be asking yourself, how many Christmas recipes could one possibly have or need? Well, I say you can never have too much of a good thing. And, I love having lots of choices. Who wants to prepare the same holiday snacks and treats year after year?

INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO PREPARE THIS RECIPE
The following is a list of the ingredients needed to prepare this recipe. For exact amounts and measurements, refer to the printable recipe card located near the bottom of this post.
- Rice Krispie Treats – You will need 8 store-bought, individually wrapped Rice Krispie Treats. I’m using the larger size, but you can use the regular-sized ones as well.
- Milk Chocolate Chips – I used milk chocolate, but you can use semi-sweet too. Use good quality melting chocolate since it will be the predominant flavour in this recipe.
- Sprinkles
- Chopped Nuts – You can use any nuts you like here.
- Candy Coated Chocolates – Like mini M&Ms for example.
HOW TO MAKE RICE KRISPIE TREAT LOLLIPOPS
Shaping the Rice Krispie Treats:
Working with one individually wrapped Rice Krispie Treat at a time, unwrap it and gently form it into a ball. It does not need to be perfectly round! Carefully, but firmly, push the stick into the ball. Repeat this will all 8 treats.
Preparing the Melted Chocolate:
Transfer the milk chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl. If you prefer a thinner chocolate, add 1/4 teaspoon of vegetable oil or coconut oil. Microwave the chocolate chips in 30-second increments at half power, stirring well between each increment.
Assembly and Packaging:
Holding one lollipop at a time, dip it entirely into the melted chocolate and allow the excess to drip off. Decorate with candy or sprinkles according to your taste. Set the lollipop down on a parchment-lined baking sheet with the stick standing up. Once the chocolate has re-hardened, insert the lollipops into a cellophane bag and tie string or ribbon tightly around the stick end. Packaged lollipops should be stored in a large Ziploc bag or a large container with a tight-fitting lid. This will keep the treats tasting fresh and will prevent them from drying out. Do not refrigerate!
MAKE YOUR OWN RICE KRISPIE TREATS
I have a recipe here for homemade Rice Krispie Treats that you can cut out with your favourite cookie-cutter shapes. If you don’t care for forming store-bought treats into a ball, how about using cookie cutters to make holiday shapes like a tree or an ornament? Take a look at my Cookie Cutter Rice Krispie Treats for inspiration. These can easily be inserted onto a stick and dipped in chocolate too!
